Alaska Cruise Ship

We went on the Diamond Princess for our cruise to Alaska.  It was a nice ship.  Small rooms but they don’t expect you to stay in your rooms that much.  There was a lot of different activities planned during the cruising days.

All shots taken with the Canon 40D, Canon 16-35mm f2.8L.  I played around with the tungsten filter which is why the 2 shots look blue.  Interesting effect.

Skagway, Alaska – interesting little town full of shops that are made to look like an old western frontier town (minus the dirt roads) but with modern shops and LOTS of jewelry stores.

Used the Canon 40D with the 16-35 f2.8L lens most of the time.

Amazing how they carve them….

Using FilterFX for the iphone and ipad…

They are nice very simple apps that are free so don’t expect too much.  The only problem I’ve had with them is uploading the images directly to Facebook from the iPhone or iPad.  I had to do the long version of saving the image, emailing it to myself, downloading it and then saving it.  They are not very big files which make it nice for web or phone to phone transfer.

Here’s a picture of a wood bridge walkway I took in Ketchican, Alaska.

Alaskan Adventure – the beginning

Alaskan Adventure – precious moments

I don’t know if they will remember it when they are older but at least I will have pictures to show them of their great Alaskan adventure.  The views were breathtaking.  The weather was perfect.  When I saw them sitting next to each other on this log to look out onto the water, it was too good of a shot to miss.
